The 2016 Queen of Scots are announced below! Congratulations to Abbie Richardson 2016 Queen of Scots and Carlee Fall 2016 Wee Queen of Scots!

Abbie Richardson is 19-year-old from Elwell.  Her parents are Scott and Elizabeth Richardson.  She graduated as Valedictorian from Alma High School in 2015 and is currently attending Mid-Michigan Community College in Mount Pleasant, where she has recently joined the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. This fall she will be transferring to Eastern Michigan University to study Dance and Business Administration.  Abbie began her dance career with the Mid-Michigan Highland Dance Academy when she was just 3 years old.  It is her goal to obtain her Master’s Degree in Dance to pursue a career as a Professor of Ballet and Contemporary Modern.  During high school Abbie was President of the Class of 2015 and the National Honor Society, as well as a member of each for three years. Abbie was a member of the Varsity Pom Pon Team and Student Council for four years, as well as a member of the DuHadway Dance Dimensions Elite Competitive Team for nine years.  She was also involved in Gratiot County 4-H for eight years and Exchange Club for four years. Abbie considers it both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to represent the Alma Highland Festival and Games as the 2016 Queen of Scots.

Carlee Fall is a fifth grader at Pine Avenue Elementary in her hometown of Alma. She is ten years old and is the daughter of Bob and Meg Fall. Carlee has attended the Highland Festival and Games every year since birth. She most enjoys the Saturday morning parade (especially went she gets to be in it!) Carlee also enjoys watching the massed bands and is looking forward to taking part in this year’s ceremonies. In her free time Carlee enjoys performing, drawing, serving others, reading, fashion, and travel. Carlee also likes to play outside and go swimming with her two sisters. Carlee has a Boston terrier named Violet and a hedgehog named Margo. Carlee feels very blessed to be the 2016 Wee Queen of Scots.
